AIChE® Applauds Celanese for Doing a World of Good

AIChE Foundation is proud to highlight and thank Celanese for its extraordinary leadership and contributions to Being the Change!

As a prominent Founders Circle member, Celanese plays an active role in shaping our Doing a World of Good campaign priorities through employee volunteerism, expert counsel and generous financial support. Demonstrating their role in doing good, Celanese employees joined us at our Prairie View, Texas A&M student process safety workshop as part our Undergraduate Process Safety Learning Initiative (UPSLI) and All for Good: Engineering for Inclusion initiatives. Their generous support of UPSLI has helped contribute to the awarding of 181,615 safety certificates to students worldwide to date.  Celanese also came on board as one of our earliest Future of STEM Scholars Initiative (FOSSI) corporate partners, a program which provides scholarships to students pursuing STEM degrees at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) as well as connects these students to internships, leadership development and mentoring opportunities at participating companies.

Celanese’s culture of giving back is not new. In fact, AIChE has been designated as a charity of choice for their employee matching gift program – doubling the impact of each individual gift and supporting programs that are critical to advancing our profession.

Additionally, we were thrilled to have senior Celanese leaders volunteer as panelists at our 2020 and 2021 Unconscious Bias - Why it Matters in Engineering sessions and share their perspectives and insight. This program focuses on practical discussions on diversity in the work place.

AIChE thanks Celanese for its extraordinary support and volunteerism. A special thank you also goes to Mary Elyse Farah, President, Celanese Foundation, whose continued partnership has made all of the aforementioned achievements possible.
