Spring Meeting and 18th Global Congress on Process Safety, Apr. 10–14

Transformation Beyond 2050: Sustainability and the Chemical Plant of the Future

Chemical engineers, process safety professionals, and stakeholders across the chemical process industries (CPI) will discuss the latest developments in the field when AIChE and its Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) host the 2022 AIChE Spring Meeting and 18th Global Congress on Process Safety (GCPS). After presenting the conferences virtually in 2020 and 2021, the 2022 Spring Meeting and GCPS return to an in-person venue at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, TX, Apr. 10–14. Sessions will be recorded and made available online beginning the week of Apr. 17.

The conference explores the breadth of today’s chemical engineering endeavors, from the fundamentals to emerging areas of practice, in a program incorporating more than 200 technical sessions. The program’s emphasis on the profession’s future is reflected in one of the meeting’s themes — Transformation Beyond 2050: Sustainability and the Chemical Plant of the Future. This future-focused theme will be reflected in many of the meeting’s topical conferences.

This year’s Spring Meeting showcases the in-person debut of new topical conferences that chart progress in industrial wastewater management and water reuse, as well as new heat exchanger technologies. The program will also continue the Spring Meeting’s examination of chemical engineering’s role in modern manufacturing, incorporating process intensification techniques and approaches related to Industry 4.0. Additional topical conferences include the 34th Ethylene Producers’ Conference, as well as tracks devoted to refinery processing, gas utilization, clean energy, hydrogen safety, waste plastics, upstream engineering and flow assurance, and workforce dynamics. Programming organized by AIChE’s Fuels and Petrochemicals Div. will span topics...
