For nearly a century, chemical engineering faculty have convened an immersive conference, The Summer School for Chemical Engineering Faculty. In 2022, an endowment was launched to ensure this conference would continue for at least another 100 years.
Earlier this fall, an anonymous donor offered to match the first $10,000 donated by New Year’s Eve 2022. With Mario and Leeja Eden’s gift, the challenge was accomplished. More than $10,000 was ultimately received, furthering the Summer School’s ability to grow its endowment.
“We decided we wanted to contribute to the Summer School challenge match and help it be a success. Thanks to the AIChE Foundation offering recurring giving, we could advance our philanthropic passion while maintaining our financial health,” said Mario and Leeja Eden.
