Gabe Drayton at Northwestern University said, “The AlChE incoming freshman scholarship helped me feel confident as I began my chemical engineering classes; I appreciate the committee’s belief in me and my future aspirations!”

Fellow incoming freshman recipient, Elizabeth Ajose at Texas A&M said, “It gave me an opportunity to pursue a career I love and was a life-saver in helping me pay for tuition. “

College scholarship recipients feel the same way.  “On a personal level, it means that the organization and people genuinely care in supporting students trying to better themselves through education, said Ashley Wisdom at Kettering University. “It means so much to me that this foundation chose me and was willing to help by providing this scholarship.”

In addition to easing financial burdens and raising confidence, recipients also recognize that receiving the scholarship provides additional supports, including resume review which will help them seek internships and first job opportunities.  “This scholarship certainly helped me as I crafted my personal statement in support of a fellowship application, and I was able to display AIChE MAC's support for my work on my resume,” Sydney Floryanzia, North Carolina State University.

Two-time recipient, Carlos Prieto Perez, recent VirginaTech grad will start working in August as a Process Engineer with Merck at their Durham, NC site.
