2021 AIChE® Gala, Celebrated the Extraordinary
The 2021 AIChE Gala, Celebrated the Extraordinary, recognizing industry leaders for solving societal problems and benefitting humanity through chemical engineering. The Gala was held on December 1 at The Metropolitan Club in New York City. A livestream of the gala program was available for those who could not attend the in-person event.
The Gala raised over $530,000 and was attended live and virtually by 300 guests. Funds raised will underwrite the expansion of the campaign’s priorities, which focus on advancing chemical engineering and bringing that expertise to bear for the good of society.
We honored Stéphane Bancel, Chief Executive Officer of Moderna, for his and the organization's outstanding leadership towards the discovery and development of innovative solutions that are saving and improving people’s lives through healthcare.
The 2021 Doing a World of Good Medal was presented to our fellow founding partners of the Future of STEM Scholars Initiative (FOSSI) for their esteemed contributions to the advancement of society, honoring, Chris Jahn, President and CEO of the American Chemistry Council (ACC); Mark Vergnano, Chairman of the Board of Chemours and Ashley Christopher, Founder and CEO of HBCU Week Foundation.
