University of Toledo Wins H. Scott Fogler 1st Place Award in 2021 Chem-E-Car Competition®

The student team from University of Toledo (shown above) clinched the top trophy in the 2021 Annual Student Conference Chem-E-Car Competition® finals, winning with a distance of 10 cm. The target distance was 21.05 m and no load was required this year.

The second place winner was Virginia Tech (23 cm), followed by the University of North Alabama (27 cm), University of Arkansas (30 cm), and Iowa State University (54 cm). See the final run results.

Awards

The winners of the poster competition were, in descending order, University of Tennessee-Knoxville (1st), University of Kentucky, Northeastern University, University of Arkansas, and Cornell University.

The award for the best team name went to the Auburn University. Their team name was WAP (We Are Performance).

The Golden Tire Award went to Oregon State University. The most creative drive system trophy was awarded to Northeastern University, and the SAChE Safety Award to University of Toledo.

Virginia Tech was awarded a plaque for the most consistent performance (0.24 m and 0.23 m), and Auburn University won the Spirit of Competition Award. The award for best video went to Virginia Tech, and Trine University received the award for outstanding sportsmanship.
