The introductory editorial on the origination of LPA 2019

The Introductory Editorial by Rusli and Nasif states, "Process plant accidents caused by major accident hazards result in significant social and financial loss. Preventing or minimizing the effect of these accidents is of great interest to governments, stakeholders, as well as practicing engineers. In this respect, the Centre of Advanced Process Safety (CAPS), Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) in collaboration with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH)-Malaysia, IChemE Safety Centre (ISC) and Centre of Risk, Integrity and Safety Engineering (C-RISE) - Canada organized the International Conference and Exhibition on Loss Prevention Asia 2019 (LPA 2019)."

The Editorial continues, “The process safety topics covered were safety culture, integrity management, risk management, environment protection, human factors, corrosion, offshore safety, emergency responses, data analytics, and fire and explosions. This special issue of Process Safety Progress contains selected papers presented at LPA 2019 with the aim of enhancing process safety compliance, practices and awareness.”
