Andreas Möglich holds a diploma in Biochemistry from the University of Regensburg and a PhD in Biophysics from the University of Basel. Following postdoctoral research at the University of Chicago, Andreas assumed a professorship in Biophysical Chemistry at Humboldt University Berlin. In 2015, he has been appointed full professor in Biochemistry at the University of Bayreuth. His laboratory explores the structural, functional and mechanistic bases of sensory photoreceptors and their application in optogenetics.
