How Our Communities Collect Waste and Recyclables

The presentation provides an overview on collecting solid waste (SW) from the curb in front of your home to the point of processing and/or disposal. It includes a brief history of how the industry has transitioned from horse and buggy to modern collecting methods. We discuss the various methods including trucks and containers used for SW collecting in the United States and briefly describe a typical day for a SW collector.
