Dr. Yuan Yao is the Assistant Professor of Industrial Ecology and Sustainable Systems at the Yale School of the Environment, Yale University. She got her Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University and a B.S. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Northeastern University in China. She also has a Management for Scientists and Engineers from Kellogg School of Management. Her research links fundamental engineering systems with scaled economic, environmental, and societal impacts. She uses interdisciplinary approaches in industrial ecology, sustainable engineering, and data analytics to support industrial and policy decisions towards sustainability.
