Wei Liu

Dr. Liu received his BS degree in Chemical Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China, MS degree in Chemical Engineering from Chinese Academy of Sciences, MS degree in Analytical Chemistry from Tufts University, and ScD in Chemical Engineering from MIT. He is currently working at Pacific Northwest National Lab as a chief engineer and has been leading several research fronts of novel separation and reaction technologies for energy and environmental applications. Prior to PNNL, he worked for Corning Incorporated as a research project manager, Amoco Oil Company (now BP) as a senior research engineer, and China Petrochemical Corporation (SINOPEC) as a process design engineer. He has been the key contributor to initiation, development, or commercialization of several process and product technologies. He did pioneering research on monolithic catalytic reactors for chemical processing industry, small-channel monolithic membrane products, zeolite membrane separation processes, and ceria-based nano composite catalysts.
