Professor of Genetics
Harvard Medical School

Stirling Churchman, Ph.D. is a Professor in the Department of Genetics at Harvard Medical School. She has pioneered the development of numerous genome-wide technologies to probe gene expression at all levels, from RNA synthesis to transcript degradation, across the cell, from the nucleus to mitochondria. Dr. Churchman is dedicated to shedding light on unappreciated aspects of gene regulation and the overarching orchestration of gene expression. Her innovative work has earned her numerous prestigious awards, including the Dale F. Frey Award for Breakthrough Scientists by the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation, a Burroughs Wellcome Fund Career Award at the Scientific Interface, and the Glenn Award for Research in Biological Mechanisms of Aging.
