Dr. Shaojuan Zeng joined in Institute of Process Engineering (IPE), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) as a full-time researcher after she obtained her master degree in Polymer Materials and Engineering in 2007. In 2016, she received her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from IPE, CAS and was promoted as an associate professor. Dr. Zeng has mainly focused on the fundamental and application of SO2, CO2 and NH3 capture and separation with ionic liquid (IL) systems since 2007, with an emphasis on the structure-property relationship, the design of ILs and IL-based materials, as well as IL-based gas separation process scale-up, aiming to promote the application of ILs in gas separation and recovery. Up to date, she has published 45 papers in peer-reviewed journals, such as Chem Rev, Green Chem, Chem Eng J, Ind Eng Chem Res, etc., and 20 invention patents (including 2 PCT patents, 12 authorized patents), and the designed IL-based solvents have been used in CO2，SO2 and NH3 separation in China.
