Niket is currently a PhD candidate in Chemical Engineering at Virginia Tech. His PhD dissertation is in the area of Integrated Polyolefins Process Modeling and Big Data Analytics for Optimizing Polyolefins Manufacturing. He has worked on developing an effective methodology for kinetic parameter estimation for modeling commercial polyolefin processes from plant data. He is currently working on the applications of data analytics for optimizing polymer manufacturing processes using his knowledge gained from course work and certification in data science at Virginia Tech.
He has 5 years of industrial experience prior to joining graduate school at Virginia Tech. He has worked with SABIC for 4 years as a research engineer where he worked on process development, scale-up, process modeling and experiments measuring reaction kinetics and polymerization. He has also worked for a year with Indian Oil Corporation as a production engineer in the oil refinery. He has used his previous industrial experience to publish literature in a manner that is helpful for practicing engineers in the industry. Niket had earned his M. Eng in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Science.
