Natesh Parashurama

Natesh Parashurama, PhD, MD, is an assistant professor in the Dept. of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the Univ. at Buffalo, with an adjunct Appointment in the Dept. of Biomedical Engineering, and Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (906 Furnas Hall, Buffalo, NY, 14260; Phone: (716) 645-1201; Fax: (716) 645-3822; Email: nateshp@buffalo.edu). The vision of his laboratory is to merge regenerative medicine and in vivo molecular imaging to develop the next generation of diagnostics and therapeutics. He holds a BS from MIT in chemical engineering with biology, an MD from Univ. at Buffalo, and a PhD from Rutgers Univ. in chemical and biochemical engineering. He participated in an NIH NIGMS predoctoral award at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital and the Center for Engineering in Medicine (Dept. of Surgery) to conduct his doctoral research in stem cell engineering. He also participated in an NIH T32 postdoctoral award in multimodality molecular imaging to conduct his postdoctoral research at Stanford Univ. in the molecular imaging program (Dept. of Radiology), and a California Institute of Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) award to conduct human pluripotent stem cell and human development research at the Univ. of California, San Francisco (UCSF) in the Center for Reproductive Sciences (Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynecology). He has been awarded a young investigator award from the International Society of Cell Therapy (ISCT), a Margules Award for best original scientific articles from the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and a Collegiate Science and Technology Engineering Program (CSTEP) mentoring award.
