Murat Sen, PhD, is a senior engineer in the Energy Research & Innovation Division at Phillips 66 Co. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering from Bogazici Univ., Turkey, and his PhD in chemical engineering from the Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison. His PhD research focused on process synthesis, optimization, and technoeconomic analysis of catalytic conversion of biomass to fuels. He has seven years of industrial experience in modeling, optimization, and technoeconomic assessment of chemical processes.
