Masayuki Yazawa

Masayuki Yazawa is an Associate Professor of Department of Pharmacological Sciences, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, in the City of New York, USA. He obtained Ph.D. at Kyoto University, Japan, and finished his postdoctoral training at Stanford University. His laboratory has used interdisciplinary approaches including optogenetics, protein engineering, stem cell biology, electrophysiology, and pharmaceutical science to uncover the molecular mechanism underlying human genetic and infectious diseases and to develop novel therapies. The mission of his group is to generate and provide human cellular and rodent models with optogenetics for many scientists to address their biological questions.
