Jyeshtharaj B. (J. B.) Joshi received bachelor’s and PhD degrees from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai (Email: jbjoshi@gmail.com). He has been on the faculty there since 1972 and retired as Director in 2009. He was DAE-Homi Bhabha Chair in Homi Bhabha National Institute until 2014 and is now Professor Emeritus. His teaching and research interests include fluid mechanics, computational fluid dynamics, multiphase reactor design, and solar, bio, and atomic energy. He was awarded the prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize and Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian honor by the President of India. He is a fellow of all the Academies in India. He is on the Editorial Board of AIChE’s new Journal of Advanced Manufacturing and Processing.
