JAMES R. THOMPSON, CPSA, is an independent contractor for ABSG Consulting Inc. with over 45 years of experience. He was the PSM manager in ABSG Consulting’s Houston, TX, office prior to his retirement. Thompson has over 30 years of industrial experience in operations and PSM with DuPont and INVISTA. He was the lead author for Guidelines for Implementing Process Safety Management, 2nd Ed. (CCPS) and has over 30 publications and conference presentations. He has a BS in chemical engineering from the Univ. of Texas at Austin and is an AIChE Fellow.
