Edna Soraya Rawlings is a Senior Member of Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories in the Quantitative Modeling and Software Engineering department. Her research focuses on mathematical modeling and programming, including nonlinear and generalized disjunctive programming and dynamic optimization problems. She received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo in 2008 and her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Universidad de Guanajuato in 2016. She was also a research scholar at Carnegie Mellon University. After receiving her PH.D., she gained further experience as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Instituto Tecnológico de Celaya and as a Postdoctoral Appointee at Sandia National Laboratories.
