David DePaoli

David W. DePaoli is a Senior R&D Staff Member in the Nuclear Materials Processing Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). In 30 years at ORNL, David has been involved in a wide range of chemical- and energy-related research and development projects, including environmental-cleanup and waste-treatment processes, basic research on separations employing external fields, and development of nuclear separation processes. He is currently lead for chemical process development in the Plutonium-238 Supply Project and an effort on recovery of critical materials from phosphate processing.

David has chaired the 11th through 18th Symposia on Separation Science and Technology for Energy Applications, and is an Associate Editor of the journal Separation Science and Technology. He was a director of the AIChE Separations Division in 2002-2007, and has held each officer position in the Oak Ridge-Knoxville Section since 1997, currently serving as secretary.

Dr. DePaoli received a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Tennessee. He is an adjunct professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Tennessee.
