Chunming Xu received his bachelor, master and doctor degrees of chemical engineering from China University of Petroleum. He is currently a professor at China University of Petroleum-Beijing, the chairman of academic committee of State Key Laboratory of Heavy Oil Processing and the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Prof. Xu’s research interests include clean fuel production, heavy oil chemistry and processing technology. He and his group developed several innovative petroleum refining technologies that achieved commercial application, such as composite ionic liquid catalyzed isobutane alkylation and supercritical fluid extraction for heavy petroleum. Prof. Xu holds more than 100 authorized invention patents, and published more than 300 papers in the fields of energy and chemical engineering on such outstanding journals as AIChE Journal, Chemical Engineering Science., Energy & Fuels, Fuel and Journal of Catalysis.
