Bipin V. Vora

After receiving Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering in 1967 from the University of New Mexico, Bipin joined UOP R&D as a development engineer and at the end of 2006 he retired as UOP Fellow, a highest technical ladder position at UOP.

Bipin Vora has been one of the key individuals responsible for leading the development and commercialization of several UOP processes. Bipin is currently an active consultant and advisor.

He has 86 US patents, over 200 international patents, and over 130 publications. He has received the Distinguished Service Award from the Fuels and Petrochemicals Division of AIChE, the AIChE Chemical Engineering Practice Award, the ACS National Award in Industrial Chemistry, and is an AIChE Fellow.

His fields of specialization include catalytic dehydrogenation, detergent alkylation, methanol to olefins, motor fuel HF alkylation, and a broad knowledge of refining and petrochemical processes reaction mechanisms, process and catalysis research, process development, process design and scale-up, and new technology commercialization.
