Deb Grubbe on Big Data in Chemical Engineering

Chemical engineer Deb Grubbe had an opportunity to sit down with CEP senior editor Michelle Bryner to talk about about how big data could be used to improve safety in the chemical process industry (CPI), in turn improving the health of the industry by reducing incidents and downtime, and making companies more profitable.

Using big-data tools to analyze volumes of process data, laboratory data, data related to structures, or electrical systems can provide engineers a much deeper understanding of their processes, which they can then use to prevent problems before they happen.
